birthdayism.

my mom kept saying, "youre a quarter of a century old now!" which i dont know if i like or dislike. she and bob are now back in california... it felt good having company but having our own little dungeon back to ourselves rules.

they arrived on the 4th and we went straight to the beach. bob couldnt believe how beautiful it was.

my actual birthday (the 5th) was spent driving around the island. we woke up and drove to hilo. i love it there. its this quaint, sleepy old fishing town directly across the island from us. the "east coast" i guess you could say. we shopped, they drank. we ate, they drank. we hiked, they drank. basically my mom and step dad drink a lot. after hilo we went to akaka falls... it was AWESOME!

(a little note from bobby =) what a babe)

oh, also, we acquired a new member to the animal rozema clan. i know i know, youre thinking, "what the hell, those kids are crazy!" this isnt as permanent as youre thinking. heres the scoop:

so its my birthday night. we were playing sorry (i know we resort to board games to entertain ourselves out here) and my mom went outside to have a smoke. i walked out to talk with her and i flipped on the porch light low and behold there is a black cat just sitting on our porch steps! this is odd because booger usually scares any cat out of our backyard in a heartbeat. so i sit down and it jumps on my lap! it was so nonchalant that i thought it belonged to a neighbor. NOPE! we asked everyone! anyway, that is the story behind sorry cat. ill take photos of her later.

the following day i rented a jeep (yay for being 25 and not paying underage fees anymore) and drove to the green sand beach. literally this destination is in THE MIDDLE OF NOWHERE. its the most southern point of the united states. i offroaded the jeep and felt like a major badass. kinda like indiana jones! we just basked and enjoyed the serenity of the nothingness around us.
hawaii.
(this makes me kind of dizzy, but my mom kept saying it reminded her of australia... haha.)
