trip to hilo.

yesterday we decided hilo was the place to take travis. ahhh, my favorite destination on the island! we picked val up and headed over to the east side. the wretched drive on saddle road was ahead. this time we agreed a 7th inning strech was in line at the half way point. this stretch turned into kite flying.

lunch was a quick pit stop at island naturals (the islands equivalent of whole foods, YUM!). everyone hopped in the prius and headed to downtown hilo. the farmers market was our first stop, swiftly followed by some epic palm readings. for $5 a man entirely summed me up in about 2 minutes. i was blown away. he proceeded to sum rob, val and travis up as well. i think everyone walked away saying "wow".

an airsoft gun purchase seemed like the right thing to do, $20 later we each had a glock to pop. seriously what a productive day thus far, right? while we were walking around we ran accross this man selling "japanese silky chickens". i am now totally obsessed with these creatures. they are so magnificent and fluffly!!! sort of like little prehistoric beings covered in cotton balls!

she was my favorite. <3 want want want.

as we proceeded rob remembered this "church" that somehow equated smoking pot as some sort of sacred act - which in turn legalized it if you were a member? the minister is pretty much bff with the district attorney and mayor of hawaii... weird. anyway, we became members and donated $20. minister roger gave us many sacraments which in turn made me feel kind of sick :-/ i snuck an iphone photo just to show you how insane this place was. (www.mosesinhaled.org for more information on how legit this dude is)
ganganomics?

our minds were totally on overload at this point. how could all of this take place in one day? i think we agreed a little nature would seal the deal on an awesome trip. off to akaka falls!!! i think travis was surprised at the beauty of the place and rob, well he was just being rob.

the night ended with a large game of monopoly between myself, rob, travis, tara (our couchsurfer), michael, javy and val. javy won... that hotel monger.
