NEW CAMERA!!!

WOW! when i found out i literally ran laps around our house screaming and laughing hysterically (until i kicked a canvas accross the room with my little toe and started bleeding everywhere). see i dont know if you all knew this, but my rebel was stolen from me back in june. that camera was a piece of me. i knew it so well (not as "well" as josh) and took hundreds of thousands of photos with it. i was left with nothing, well i take that back, i was left with ONE plastic 50mm lens that i had no body to use with. sad story.

anyway today, i was using paypal to send a rockett shipment. lo and behold there was a large debit and no more monies in the account!!! upon further inspection i saw a costco debit! fishy! so i called rob and told him about it... i knew something was up and that particular something was a canon 40d sitting with rob in the car driving home to me!!! he told me, "oh yeah i bought a new couch for the guest room..." buwahahahaha... such a terrible liar. well, he came home and i got all giggly and asked what the "couch" looked like. i pretended i was going to walk out and look at it when he stopped me and said, "oh i returned it, it was a dumb purchase."

i walked outside while rob clambered to get in front of me and stop me. he proceeded to tell me about this box in the car, and that was it. well i wanted to see this box. im a jerk huh? this box happened to contain my NEW BABY!!!!







did i mention that the camera was on sale and that it was the last one? so they discounted it a total of $500. once rob agreed to buy it he realized it was a package. it came with the 40d body, the starter lens (since i cant shoot everything with a 50mm lens), two batteries, a 1gig memory card, AN EXTERNAL FLASH and a camera bag... woowwwwwww. it was a glorious moment, almost like a rebirth of sorts. i have been so disconnected from reality and now i know why! having a camera with me was almost like a way to process events. remembering shots and feeling proud of something kept me so in tune with myself. so now im back to normal kali - happier than ever! turning 25 in 2 days. mom and bob are coming out tomorrow and we shall properly document their trip. huzzah!
